Congratulations Kira! You Won a $100 VISA Gift Card!

Much thanks to all who entered our drawing for National Credit Union Youth Month by submitting a coloring page. Congratulations to Kira, who submitted a coloring page and won our drawing for a $100 Visa Gift Card.

When asked about how she feels about saving, she informed us that she has already saved about $400 and said, “I’m saving for college.”

Kira’s Grandmother, Molly is a member of Hawaii Central Federal Credit Union and understands the importance of teaching the next generation about smart money management. Our drawing gave her and other grandparents/parents a fun way to engage with children on the subject. Although she says she encouraged all of her grandchildren to submit an entry, Kira was the only one who entered.

“I spent two days coloring this,” said Kira who added that it was difficult choosing colors.

While the winner was chosen by random drawing, we must say that if it was based on color theory and effort, Kira’s vibrant entry was a top contender!

Filipino Community Relations Team Attends 2024 Filipino Fiesta

The Hawaii Central Federal Credit Union Filipino Community Relations Team (Filcom Team) was out in full force at the Filipino Fiesta held at the Filcom Center in Waipahu on Saturday May 4th. Members of our Filcom Team worked through the day alongside volunteers from our Consumer and Home Loan departments to perform outreach and raise awareness around products and services that can add value to and benefit members of the Filipino community.

In addition to offering financial services in Tagalog, Bisaya, and Ilocano we offer members:

Insurance on Deposits up to $750,000
Western Union Services (low fee)
Coin Counting Machine (no cost), and
Video Banking for convenience

Of course, it was a fiesta, and the focus was on having fun. Visitors to our booth were engaged in games traditionally played in the Philippines. They also were invited to enter our drawing for a $100 VISA gift card by completing our Virtual Scavenger Hunt, designed to educate attendees on our products and services.

Chaminade Student Demetrius Wins a Grocery Delivery!

On November 2, we surprised Demetrius, a student at Chaminade who participated in our social media selfie contest, with a grocery delivery (a value of up to $350!). The contest was held in celebration of the launch of our ADVANTAGE program for young adults. The ADVANTAGE program is focused on helping young adults establish their finances, build credit and pay for school.

Demetrius, a Chaminade Silversword who met us at a new student orientation event, says he recently submitted his application for membership with Hawaii Central Federal Credit Union. In addition to learning about our student loans and the importance of establishing finances and building credit, he learned about the convenience of Video Banking. He plans to use the service to complete his application.

Maria Wins a Yeti Hopper and Two Yeti Ramblers!

Members signing up for the first time for our Online/Mobile Bill Pay S ervice between October 1st and November 30th, 2023, will be entered to win a KitchenAid Stand Mixer.

Each quarter in 2023, we have been giving away a prize to one lucky member who uses or enrolls in one of our products or services. This year we have given away an Ooni Pizza Oven, a 55″ Samsung Television, and a Yeti Hopper with two Yeti Ramblers.

Maria, this quarter’s winner, was surprised when we called to let her know her name was drawn as the winner of our Signature-based Debit Card Contest–receiving a Yeti Hopper and two Yeti Ramblers. She wasted no time and was down by the end of the day to pick up her prize.
