Making our Purple Presence Known in Kapalama
Team Environment participated in a clean-up event for our community service this year. Our team decided to go with 808 Cleanups since they had the most events that we could participate in and we found an event close to home – in town. On September 7, 2019, we helped out with a Lo’i Kalo Mini Park Clean Up. This Mini Lo’i Kalo (Taro Patch) is one of the remaining hidden gems in the middle of urban Kapalama.
808 Cleanups is a 501(c)(3) environmental nonprofit organization committed to restoring Hawaii’s natural beauty by empowering volunteers to conduct decentralized cleanups from Mauka to Makai, responding to littering and vandalism of Hawaiʻi’s natural spaces, saving Hawaii’s indigenous ecosystem through education, and building sustainable solutions with community partners.
