Collections Manager
Primary Responsibilities:
The Collections Manager minimizes and mitigates losses for the credit union while insuring alignment to and achievement of HCFCU’s strategic plans, initiatives and goals. The Collections Manager is responsible for and performs all duties necessary for the smooth operation of the Collections Department. This position is under the general supervision of the Vice President.
Essential Duties:
- Oversee, support and further develop direct reports. Works closely with other Managers in a collaborative manner to ensure teamwork, operational efficiency and effectiveness within all credit union departments. Responsible for all personnel concerns within the department, including but not limited to hiring/termination, cross-training/back-up, and the coordination and distribution of work to ensure all projects/tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Responsible to provide positive member experiences at every touch point (in person, over the phone, etc.). Provide members with information concerning the credit union, its products, services and policies.
- Effectively manages HCFCU’s delinquent loan portfolio, which includes but are not limited to:
- Aggressively pursues collection action on delinquent accounts;
- Identify, track and assign accounts to collection agency
- Work with attorney to track and assign accounts for collection litigation
- Prepare required reports for presentation to the Board of Directors
- Presents to the Delinquency Committee the status of delinquent accounts.
- Coordinates repossessions and disposition of motor vehicles.
- Follows-up on bankruptcies; meeting of creditor, proof of claims and reaffirmation agreements.
- Establish guidelines and recommends for charge off accounts that are not responsive to collection efforts.
- Responsible to manage collection related vendor relations, contracts and agreements.
- Responsible for all collection related compliance for the credit union. Recommend changes to policies and/or procedures for the Collections Department as appropriate.
- Responsible for all collection related reports.

Real Estate Loan Manager
Primary Responsibilities:
The Real Estate Loan Manager manages and directs all strategies and activities that impact the performance in sales, service, and profitability of the Real Estate Loans department. The Real Estate Loan Manager is responsible to develop, grow and retain relationships with members, vendors, and business associates. Oversees the day-to-day operations and ensures industry, state and federal regulatory compliance. This position is under the general supervision of the Vice President.
Essential Duties:
- Oversee, support and further develop direct reports. Works closely with other Managers in a collaborative manner to ensure teamwork, operational efficiency and effectiveness within all credit union departments. Responsible for all personnel concerns within the department, including but not limited to hiring/termination, cross-training/back-up, and the coordination and distribution of work to ensure all projects/tasks are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Preparation and evaluation of credit qualification, purchase contracts to meet guidelines and, if applicable, ensures salability of loans to prospective investors.
- Underwrite loan files to include necessary documentation ensuring compliance with industry and/or credit union standards, as well as proper representations and warranties.
- Review purchase contracts, appraisals, property standards to meet credit union, state and federal guidelines.
- Knowledge and understanding of loan program guidelines, including but not limited to FHLMC, FNMA, FHA, VA, HELOC, along with various credit union and non-credit union real estate products and services.
- Work to build a cohesive team committed to providing the best service to members, brokers, vendors and potential members.
- Work closely with Credit Union management in a collaborative manner to ensure teamwork and operational efficiency.
- Ensure the department is operating in an efficient manner while providing quality service and service resolution.
Ensure the performance in building, retaining, and acquiring member relationships to achieve sales and service goals. Responsible to implement and monitor an effective brokerage program
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- At least 5 years of previous Real Estate and management experience.
- NMLS License required.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance guidelines.
- Must possess effective and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Works effectively under pressure to meet critical deadlines and make sound decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Must have strong PC skills, including Excel and Word.
- Ability to work flexible hours.

Real Estate Loan Officer
Primary Responsibilities:
The Real Estate Loan Officer will be responsible for originating and closing mortgage loans, evaluating and verifying loan applications. Providing exceptional customer service and staying current on the mortgage industry trends.
Essential Duties:
- Establish and manage partnerships with local real estate offices.
- Efficiently completing residential mortgage loan applications and ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
- Guide members through the loan application process from pre-approval to close.
- Match members with appropriate products.
- Coordinate with processors and underwriters to ensure efficient closings.
- Knowledge of and compliance with state and federal laws, rules and regulations, and market trends.
- Knowledge of credit union’s core process system and other related credit union applications.
- Ability to price loans and lock interest rate commitments in accordance with loan products.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with credit union employees, members, borrowers, regulators, and third-party vendors.
- Understand applicable credit union policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years experience in the mortgage industry, sales, HELOC or banking experience.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance guidelines.
- Attention to detail and ability to analyze financial information.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- PC knowledge, word processing, email, spreadsheet and other related applications.
- Ability to work flexible hours.

Real Estate Loan Underwriter
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for evaluating Real Estate loan applications by analyzing credit reports, income, assets, and debt to assess risk, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and making approval/denial decisions, while also communicating with loan officers/members and maintaining loan file accuracy.
Essential Duties:
- Evaluate residential loan files/applications for qualification to various loan programs available.
- Underwrite all Real Estate related loans to provide proper representations and warranties to investors.
- Review purchase contracts, appraisals, property standards to meet investor, state and federal guidelines.
- Underwrite loan files to include necessary documentation ensuring compliance with investor and industry guidelines and qualifications.
- Maintain updates, changes and have a clear understanding of applicable regulations and disclosures to investor, mortgage lender, mortgage insurance companies and credit union service organizations.
- Ability to identify, define, provide specific detailed information and responses with regards to questions and concerns on a timely basis.
- Knowledge of investor and loan program guidelines including but not limited to FHLMC, FNMA, FHA, VA, HELOC, various credit union real estate products and services as well as insurance companies.
- Able to read, analyze and comprehend common, technical and legal industry forms and documents specific to the real estate and credit union lending industry.
- Must be able to work with little supervision, possess efficient and accurate record organization, management and accountability skills necessary to work effectively under pressure to meet critical deadlines and make sound decisions.
- Communicate verbally, effectively and professionally with credit union officials, third party vendors, regulators and investors.
- Knowledgeable in credit union policy, practices and procedure.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelors’ Degree in Business and or 7-10 years experience in the real estate lending industry.
- NMLS License.
- Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
- PC knowledge, word processing, email, spreadsheet and other related applications.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
